Event Details

Colorado is home to 15 different species of ducks—not to mention a variety of other fascinating waterfowl. Join Alison Kondler of Birding By Ear for an exciting adventure in duck identification, using both sight and sound. We’ll explore wetland habitats, sharpening our skills as we identify various duck species and, with a bit of luck, catch a glimpse of their charming courtship displays. We’ll also be on the lookout for other winter resident birds.

Location: We’ll begin birding at one central spot before caravanning to various lakes in Lakewood. This field trip is easy, with minimal to no walking required. Detailed information will be sent the day before the field trip.

All skill levels, from beginners to seasoned birdwatchers, are welcome. Participants must be 14 years of age or older. What to bring: Binoculars, shoes with traction, warm layers, water, and snacks. Early sign-up is encouraged. $15 per person. Refunds are available, but EventBrite fees will be deducted. The event will be rescheduled if the weather is not optimal.
