Saturday, April 18th, 2026. Bird Sound ID Seminar 6:30 – 8:00 PM – Kingery Nature Center
Spring migration is ramping up, and suddenly the air is full of bird songs and calls. This interactive workshop will help you identify what you’re hearing and prepare you for the sometimes overwhelming weeks ahead. You’ll learn memory tricks: creative phrases, rhythms, stories, and visual cues that make each sound unforgettable. Whether you’re brushing up on familiar calls or hearing them for the first time, you’ll leave with tools that help you remember what you hear. All birding levels welcome.
Sunday, April 19th, 2026 Bird Sound ID – Outdoor Workshop 7:00 – 10:00 AM
Spring migration is underway and with it comes the challenge of learning (or relearning) which bird is singing what. Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been birding for years, this workshop is designed as a friendly warm-up to get your ears ready for the season. The focus is on training your ear to listen and retain what you hear. You’ll discover tricks that make bird sounds stick: fun stories, quirky comparisons, and creative mnemonics. You’ll walk away with skills that change how you experience time outdoors. All birding levels welcome. Attending the seminar on Saturday the 18th is recommended but not necessary.
