Let’s go see some brightly colored birds in their breeding plumage singing at the top of their lungs. During this excursion, we will be searching for resident and migrating birds, honing in on the birds’ auditory characteristics, and using mnemonic-based techniques to help connect each bird’s sound back to its species.”During this excursion, we will be searching for resident and migrating birds, honing in on the birds’ auditory characteristics, and using mnemonic-based techniques to help connect each bird’s sound back to its species.

The destination for the field trip will be a prime stop-over location just northwest of Denver, CO, in a marshland habitat accessible via easy, flat trails. You will receive additional information, including a map pin, via email one day before the field trip. All skill levels, from beginners to seasoned birdwatchers, are welcome, and participants must be 14 years of age or older.

This is a free field trip, though donations are appreciated. Led by Alison Kondler of Birding By Ear.
